What were the boundary lines David was referring to in Psalms 16:6, and why were they favorable?

My focus on this verse would be picking up on the key words (as you have) on boundary lines. Imagine our lives being left unchecked, not without boundaries marked, we have no way to enjoy ourselves fully. There are alot of examples in life in which we enjoy better if we have boundaries, like soccer where we have clearly marked areas of play, and with a "referee/judge" that keeps the game cleaner than when there was none. So I feel the Psalmist was talking about how he feels that the boundaries that have been set forth by God for him, are in "pleasant places", which tells us that we also need to keep ourselves rooted in Christ, to be able to see God's boundaries not as a limitation to enjoyment, but as guidelines to maximize enjoyment. In Genesis 2:15-17, we see Adam being put to work in the Garden of Eden, and the first boundary set by God to maximize enjoyment. But as sinful men, we often want to satisfy our own desires and push boundaries and at times, cross them to our own detriment. So let us all learn to grow in the area of self control.
