What did Jesus mean in Luke 22:36 about buying a sword?

Luke 22:36

ESV - 36 He said to them, "But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.

What's happening here, is that the scripture "has to be fulfilled", this is the last supper. "First", JESUS gives instructions to buy a sword, "Second", Satan has to enter the spirit of Judas for the betrayal.. "Third", Peter is told by JESUS that Peter will deny's JESUS three times before the cock crows.
Peter takes the sword and cut's the man ear off, then out of compassion, mercy, and love, the LORD JESUS picks the man's ear up and attaches it to the man's head before HE goes to the cross to be executed for OUR sins. This act of kindness was to show the world that the WORD of GOD has LOVES for us all.
If this passage was to mean that men should buy weapons to kill one another then the LORD JESUS would "contradict" HIMSELF because HE said, in Matt,5:39 & Luke 6:29 to turn the other cheek.
