When they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.
And the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region.
From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called to him the elders of the church.
And they were glorifying God because of me.

But I did not see any other of the apostles except James, the Lord's brother.
And since he would not be persuaded, we fell silent, remarking, "The will of the Lord be done!"
The king stood up and the governor and Bernice, and those who were sitting with them,
When he got to the stairs, he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob;
But when the Jews of Thessalonica found out that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul in Berea also, they came there as well, agitating and stirring up the crowds.
And they all took hold of Sosthenes, the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of the judgment seat. But Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.
As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people kept begging that these things might be spoken to them the next Sabbath.
And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, "The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers,
but they simply had some points of disagreement with him about their own religion and about a dead man, Jesus, whom Paul asserted to be alive.
