Descendants of Reuben
Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel - a he was indeed the firstborn, but because he b defiled his father's bed, c his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright;
yet d Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a e ruler, although the birthright was Joseph's -
the sons of f Reuben the firstborn of Israel were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
The sons of Joel were Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
and Beerah his son, whom TiglathPile'ser king of Assyria g carried into captivity. He was leader of the Reubenites.
And his brethren by their families, h when the genealogy of their generations was registered: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in i Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal Meon.
Eastward they settled as far as the entrance of the wilderness this side of the River Euphrates, because their cattle had multiplied j in the land of Gilead.
Now in the days of Saul they made war k with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the entire area east of Gilead.

So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, "The LORD has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me.

The sons of Reuben were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
These are the heads of their fathers' houses: The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. These are the families of Reuben.
Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. The children of Reuben were: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites.

All these were registered by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

One king was Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon and ruled half of Gilead, from Aroer, which is on the bank of the River Arnon, from the middle of that river, even as far as the River Jabbok, which is the border of the Ammonites.
And Moses had given to the tribe of the children of Reuben an inheritance according to their families.
Their territory was from Aroer, which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and the city that is in the midst of the ravine, and all the plain by Medeba.
And spoke to them, saying, "Return with much riches to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. Divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
So the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they had obtained according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
Now this is the genealogy of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's maidservant, bore to Abraham.
