In that day the LORD with His severe sword, great and strong,
Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
a Leviathan that twisted serpent;
And He will slay b the reptile that is in the sea.
In that day c sing to her,
d "A vineyard of red wine!
e I, the LORD, keep it,
I water it every moment;
Lest any hurt it,
I keep it night and day.
Fury is not in Me.
Who would set f briers and thorns
Against Me in battle?
I would go through them,
I would burn them together.
Or let him take hold g of My strength,
That he may h make peace with Me;
And he shall make peace with Me."
Those who come He shall cause i to take root in Jacob;
Israel shall blossom and bud,
And fill the face of the world with fruit.
j Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him?
Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?
k In measure, by sending it away,
You contended with it.
l He removes it by His rough wind
In the day of the east wind.
Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be covered;
And this is all the fruit of taking away his sin:
When he makes all the stones of the altar
Like chalkstones that are beaten to dust,
Wooden images and incense altars shall not stand.
Yet the fortified city will be m desolate,
The habitation forsaken and left like a wilderness;
There the calf will feed, and there it will lie down
And consume its branches.
When its boughs are withered, they will be broken off;
The women come and set them on fire.
For n it is a people of no understanding;
Therefore He who made them will o not have mercy on them,
And p He who formed them will show them no favor.
And it shall come to pass in that day
That the LORD will thresh,
From the channel of the River to the Brook of Egypt;
And you will be q gathered one by one,
O you children of Israel.
r So it shall be in that day:
s The great trumpet will be blown;
They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria,
And they who are outcasts in the land of t Egypt,
And shall u worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?
You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters.
You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, And gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent?
"Speak, and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against you, O Pharaoh king of Egypt, O great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers, Who has said, 'My River is my own; I have made it for myself.'
"Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him: 'You are like a young lion among the nations, And you are like a monster in the seas, Bursting forth in your rivers, Troubling the waters with your feet, And fouling their rivers.'
Now let me sing to my Well-beloved A song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard On a very fruitful hill.
You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.
For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.
Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a seed of highest quality. How then have you turned before Me Into the degenerate plant of an alien vine?
1 Samuel 2:9
He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. "For by strength no man shall prevail.
Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
Like birds flying about, So will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem. Defending, He will also deliver it; Passing over, He will preserve it.
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
2 Samuel 23:6
But the sons of rebellion shall all be as thorns thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with hands.
For wickedness burns as the fire; It shall devour the briers and thorns, And kindle in the thickets of the forest; They shall mount up like rising smoke.
For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you.
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
LORD, You will establish peace for us, For You have also done all our works in us.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah Shall again take root downward, And bear fruit upward.
I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon.
Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Lord has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, "I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks.
So the Light of Israel will be for a fire, And his Holy One for a flame; It will burn and devour His thorns and his briers in one day.
Isaiah 30:30 - 33
The LORD will cause His glorious voice to be heard, And show the descent of His arm, With the indignation of His anger And the flame of a devouring fire, With scattering, tempest, and hailstones.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as ...
But He, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, And did not destroy them. Yes, many a time He turned His anger away, And did not stir up all His wrath.
I will lay it waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds That they rain no rain on it.
Then the lambs shall feed in their pasture, And in the waste places of the fat ones strangers shall eat.
Because the palaces will be forsaken, The bustling city will be deserted. The forts and towers will become lairs forever, A joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks -
"Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest."'
For they are a nation void of counsel, Nor is there any understanding in them.
The ox knows its owner And the donkey its master's crib; But Israel does not know, My people do not consider.
Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaks folly. For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.

It shall come to pass in that day That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time To recover the remnant of His people who are left, From Assyria and Egypt, From Pathros and Cush, From Elam and Shinar, From Hamath and the islands of the sea.
The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, "Yet I will gather to him Others besides those who are gathered to him.
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land.
1 Chronicles 15:24
Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, were to blow the trumpets before the ark of God; and ObedE'dom and Jehiah, doorkeepers for the ark.
And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!
Then the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the LORD and perform it.
And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the LORD, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.
Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels.
