Lead Me in Your Righteousness
To the choirmaster: for the flutes. A Psalm of David.
Give ear to my words, O Lord;
consider my u groaning.
Give attention to the sound of my cry,
my v King and my God,
for w to you do I pray.
O Lord, in x the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and y watch.
For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not dwell with you.
The z boastful shall not a stand before your eyes;
you b hate all evildoers.
You destroy those who speak c lies;
the Lord abhors d the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love,
will enter your house.
I will e bow down f toward your g holy temple
in the fear of you.
h Lead me, O Lord, in your righteousness
because of my enemies;
i make your way straight before me.
For there is no truth in their mouth;
their inmost self is j destruction;
k their throat is l an open grave;
they m flatter with their tongue.
n Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them o fall by their own counsels;
because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against you.
But let all who p take refuge in you q rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may r exult in you.
For you s bless the righteous, O Lord;
you t cover him with favor as with u a shield.

O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come.
But I, O Lord, cry to you; in the morning my prayer comes before you.

My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.
I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.
For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
I say to the boastful, 'Do not boast,' and to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horn.
You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong, why do you idly look at traitors and remain silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he?
