To the choirmaster. A Song. A Psalm.
b Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
sing the glory of his name;
c give to him glorious praise!
Say to God, d "How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies e come cringing to you.
f All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
they sing praises to your name." Selah
g Come and see what God has done:
d he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
He h turned the sea into dry land;
they i passed through the river on foot.
There did we rejoice in him,
who rules by his might forever,
whose j eyes keep watch on the nations -
let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
Bless our God, O peoples;
let the sound of his praise be heard,
who has kept our soul among the living
and k has not let our feet slip.
For you, O God, have l tested us;
you have tried us as silver is tried.
You brought us into m the net;
you laid a crushing burden on our backs;
you let men n ride over our heads;
we went through fire and through o water;
yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.
I will come into your house with burnt offerings;
I will p perform my vows to you,
that which my lips uttered
and my mouth promised q when I was in trouble.
I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals,
with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams;
I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah
r Come and hear, all you who fear God,
and I will tell what he has done for my soul.
I cried to him with my mouth,
and high praise was on my tongue.
If I had s cherished iniquity in my heart,
t the Lord would not have listened.
But truly u God has listened;
he has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Blessed be God,
because he has not rejected my prayer
or removed his steadfast love from me!

Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob!
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord ; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Then Joshua said to Achan, "My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel and give praise to him. And tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.
Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastlands.
By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas.
As soon as they heard of me they obeyed me; foreigners came cringing to me.
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.
Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.
Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth.
Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
You split open springs and brooks; you dried up ever-flowing streams.
Joshua 3:14 - 17
So when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Jordan with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people.
The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord 's throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
From on high he sent fire; into my bones he made it descend; he spread a net for my feet; he turned me back; he has left me stunned, faint all the day long.
And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare. And I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, yet he shall not see it, and he shall die there.
And I will put it into the hand of your tormentors, who have said to you, 'Bow down, that we may pass over'; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to pass over.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High.
In my distress I called upon the Lord ; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.
Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Take care; do not turn to iniquity, for this you have chosen rather than affliction.
If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.
Will God hear his cry when distress comes upon him?
Psalms 116:1 - 2
I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.
