In the Bible, a hedge was a fence or wall that protected vineyards and fields (Mark 12:1). Spiritually, it represents God’s protection and care. In Job 1:10, Satan admits that Job was surrounded by God’s hedge of blessing. At times, the Lord removes that hedge, as in Isaiah 5:5, or uses it to restrain us from going the wrong way, like in Hosea 2:6.

The good news is that God still puts His hedge around those who belong to Him. His protection may not keep us from every trial, but it keeps the enemy on a leash and preserves what matters most: our life and our soul (John 10:28). The greatest hedge is found in Jesus Christ, who not only guards us but also breaks down the walls that separate us from God (Ephesians 2:14).

If you have never trusted Christ, you can step inside God’s hedge today. He promises forgiveness, new life, and eternal security to all who turn to Him in faith (John 3:16).
