Salvation by sacraments and personal merit is to most men an acceptable way to eternal life, but in reality, it leads to death. The right way is Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection and that alone. We cannot earn our way into heaven and we certainly cannot buy our way in. Jesus was the supreme sacrifice to pay for our sins.
