Let me first say I suffer with you, and I am saddened to hear of how long this pain has been for you and how trying. I too have had many trials in my life, some seemingly too long and some still I do not see an answer this side of eternity. Can I assure you that our wonderful God understands your suffering. 

Our Jesus who came and suffered on the cross, is not unaware of what it feels like to live in a human body, to be tortured to death, to be blamed for things he did not do, to be humiliated, to see his friends cry around him and not to be able to reach down and instantly stop their pain, to be tempted...

Hold on my friend and know that you are loved and that there are many in the assembly of the brethren that would love to sorrow in your sorrows and pray with you and let you know they care. Pray "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Prov 3: 5-6 

Remember, God is building you up for great work and His purposed plan so "rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance Rom 5:3 and to “Count it all JOY, my brothers, when you meet trails of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness, And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." James 1: 2-8. 

Friend, your faith must be in God not circumstance, for looking at our surroundings we will sink in life much like Peter did when he took his eyes off Jesus and put them on the wind. God can help you rise above any circumstance. 

God is readying you for a better day and a perfect work, Rom 8:18. Remember that it is with learning to be content and to lean into Jesus for strength that "we "can do all things through Him who strengthens us." Phil 4: 13. Paul had learned to be content in both plenty and want. He found a way to do so because he was filled up in Christ. We can find this perfect peace that surpasses all understanding in our walk as well. It comes by the growing of our faith and dependence in him and seeking him first with all of our heart. "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trail when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you." 1 Pet 4:12 but be assured that "we know that for those who love God all things work together for good." Rom 8: 28 

So I say all of the above to bring us to the verse that really highlights the answer to your question: How do you know when your personal trail is over? Be assured then my friend that "after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself RESTORE, CONFIRM, STRENGTHEN and ESTABLISH you." 1 Pet 5:10 

The purpose of our trails then are to restore us to dependence on Christ alone, Confirm the integrity of our walk with Him, spiritually Strengthen us for each day, so your faith is unshakable, and Establish us as dependable fruit bearing trees in his harvest field. 

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness (Matt 4: 1 -11) we note three important things: First He was led by the Spirit, secondly He knew the Word, and thirdly angels came and ministered unto Him at the end of His trial. My friend we need to be led by the Spirit, and be ministered to by His angels. “No temptation has overcome you that is not common to man (1 Cor 10:13)...you are not alone. 

"I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16: 33 take heart my friend and in Him have PEACE.
