God gave us the ten commandments and in nine He said "thou shalt", however; in only one He said" REMEMBER". This " Remember" is significant as He too rested on the seventh day. Yeshua (Jesus) came on earth to show us the way, and He worshiped on the seventh day. The Apostles after His resurrection went to the temple on the seventh day; the first day was mentioned once for Paul to collect donations for the poor and needy. Nowhere in the Bible were we told to worship on Sundays. All Christians worshiped on the seventh day until Constantine began the change of the day of worship to Sunday; the day when the Sun god was worshiped. In the same light Christmas was declared as the birthday of the Messiah to coincide with that of the sun god. I therefore, invite you to read these scriptures: 1. Genesis 2::2-3 'And on the seventh day God ended his work which He had made; and rested on the seventh day from all His work and God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it He had rested from all His work.. 2. Exodus 16: 22 -30 (please note here the Sabbath existed even before the 10 Commandments were given) On the sixth day (Friday) gather twice as much manna....Tomorrow (Saturday) is the rest of the Holy Sabbath unto the Lord; bake that which ye will bake today (Friday)..........and that which remaineth over lay up (put away) for you to be kept until the morning(for you to use on Saturday). 3. Exodus 20:8-11 (note well verses 8, 10) The giving of the Ten Commandments by God to Moses for His people 4. Exodus 31: 13 -18 "....My Sabbaths ye shall keep; for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generation; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you....V.15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest; holy to the Lord..." 5. Acts 13: 14 -16; 42-44 "..When they departed from Perga they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down. And after the reading of the Torah and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them saying Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on..." 6. Acts 18: 1 -4-----V.4 Paul "reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks" 7. Acts 15: 19 -22 V.21-------Reading in the temple every Sabbath day 8. 1 John 5:1-4 (note well verses 2-3)---For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments and His commandments are not grievous---------- 9. Matt. 23:1-3 Then spoke Yeshua (Jesus) saying 'The Scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that OBSERVE AND DO".
