What does happen to the damned souls after it is all over and satan has been defeated by God? Do those souls burn in the lake of fire for eternity? I believe that is what is noted in Revelation. God will be done with him and the torment of mankind will be over. Not only for a season but for our eternity. Just my thought process.
The book of Revelations 21:8 explains that all unbelieving souls in hell will go to the second death, (the lake of fire).
Thanks for the scripture verse. clarification is important.
"Lake of fire" and "eternity in hell" represent a "state of non existence" - "Death" or The Second Death.
If someone dies, can he be in pain?
I believe that when the Bible states ETERNAL TORMENT that is exactly what it means, even if we as mankind don't have no ability to understand the possibilities of it, being that we are not GOD. Dead to the flesh is different than Spiritual death, so with that said I believe that God meant what He said and I will go with exactly that.
Thanks,
S
There are six passages in Matthew alone that quote Jesus describing "weeping and gnashing of teeth" either in darkness or a fiery furnace.
This doesn't seem to equate with being in a "state of non-existence"?
Absolutely Bruce, I believe that God means exactly what he says! No questions asked. It is written therefore it is!
