A question about Michael Houdmann's comment that The Abrahamic Covenant was unconditional (unilateral): would it not have been a conditional Covenant when one considers what would have been the result of God's promises to Abraham if Abraham had not obeyed and by faith gone to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, even though he did not know where he was going? (Hebrews 11:8)

In addition to S. Michael Houdmann's excellent response, may I add that a Covenant is not merely `Made` but `Cut`. The shedding of blood demonstrating to seriousness of the covenant. Perhaps something which tends to be lost in the modern Western world where promises and pledges are broken so casually, but YWVH takes them seriously.
