I'm not planning on using my body after death, and parts of it could improve or even save he lives of others. To me that's a no brainer.
I don't for one moment believe that God needs my body to be buried whole in order to resurrect me. If God can create a human from dust, then I cannot for the life of me see why he'd have trouble resurrecting a human being from ashes or with parts loaned out. I find it fairly ludicrous, to be honest, that anyone would suggest that would give God even the smallest headache, if that person truly believes that He is omnipotent.

My daughter is very anti organ donation and I am not sure why as she is the most loving and giving person I know. I guess in the end, after considering God's wishes, it becomes a personal choice, as do most things. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Kidney issues and multiple other physical problems. I am willing (indeed EAGER) to donate any of my organs or tissues that may prolong another's life or help with medical research. The sad thing is, I'm pretty sure they don't want anything I have! In the end, one can only pray for God's guidance on the subject and try to keep our bodies (if we believe in organ and tissue donation) in the best shape we can while we are here on Earth.

I must say I wotk in the field of organ donation. It can be a wonderful life saving gift. As Christians, i do believe we are called upon to save lives when we can both spiritually and physically if possible. Unfortunately i have seen the twrm brain death used in numerous situations in which the person is NOT completely neurologically dead. Physicians sometimes use it to say there is no hope for recovery but the person is very much alive. My father is an example of this, and if i was not a nurse, and not in the field of organ dona2i would have likely believed the doctors and had care withdrawn, theu told me he was brain dead,. However i knew better and my father is alive and well today. If a loved one is considered brain dead make sure they have a cerebral blood flow study that shows no blood flow to the brain. Any blood flow in the brain or brain st is not brain death. And pray and discern in those situations.
