Take them to the scriptures everytime. The Gospel/Holy spirit is what saves. Not us. We are vessels to be used by God for His purpose and Glory.2 Corinthians 5:20) 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. Scripture alone carries all the answers (John 14:6) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. It is our job to point to scripture alone, and prayer for the unbeliever. We tend to try to the Holy spirits job. Hope that helps. Grace and Peace.
