Who is Allah?

How could he be defined? Could he be defined in the scriptures, either in the Bible or the Qur'an, just as YAHWEH is defined in the Bible (John 4:23-24) that He is Spirit.

I am asking this question because many Christians seem to readily believe that Allah is equally God YAHWEH. Could someone have a divergent answer/view?

as for me:
Allah in Arabic word = God in English word = Dieu in French word = Diyos in Tagalog word, etc... It's mean that the title (ex. Mr. Mrs. Dr. Engr. Atty.) but the real name is of God from old testament to new testament is Jesus Christ & supporting verses are (Is. 9:6, Mat. 1:21, Rev. 1:8, 1Tim. 3:16) in Bible & Koran believe that Jesus Christ is coming soon... Jesus Christ is God & Lord... He is the way, the truth, the life & He is yesterday, today & forever... Open your heart & open your mind, you will understand.

I have heard that Allah is a moon god. That is why so many Muslim countries have a moon on their flag and on buildings. Yahweh is the only true God.
