Doug Addison sounds like a very intelligent, strong, energetic, and fun person. However, I am very concerned that the Bible is not mentioned in the "About Doug" section of his website. A self-proclaimed prophet--in order to be a real, Christian prophet--must be basing their whole life, philosophies, and theology on the Bible. To not even mention the Bible, much less how he interprets the Bible, in telling us who he is--this is a red flag to me.

The Bible has much to say about false prophets (Jeremiah 6:13 and Jeremiah 23:16-17, for two passages). Of course, a clear sign of a false prophet is one who leads people away from the true God and the truths of His Word.

The key is to weigh everything Doug Addison says against the Word of God. Even if his prophecies come true, that still does not mean he is a real prophet of God (Deuteronomy 13:1-4).

Our (my husband's and my) first suggestion would be to write Mr. Addison and ask him about his interpretation of the Bible, and then weigh his answer against truth and ask God for wisdom (James 1:5-8). After that, continue to weigh his words and actions in light of Scripture.
