An english dictionary will probably make distinctions between the two terms.

However, the Bible seems to make clear that God does not.

In Matthew 5:28, Jesus says: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

Later in Matthew 15:19, our Lord returns to the subject of head/heart thinking vs. Actions saying: " For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander."

Hopefully the above gets at what you wanted.

Blessings all!

Sexual immorality, according to Thayer's Greek Lexicon, refers to
illicit sexual intercourse in Acts 15:20, 29; 21:25 for example.

But "impurity' (ἀκαθαρσία) means, according to Thayer's Greek Lexicon,
'uncleanness';
a. physical: Matthew 23:27.

or

b. in a moral sense, the impurity of lustful, luxurious, profligate living: Romans 1:24; 6:19; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 4:19; 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; but it is also used of impure motives in 1 Thessalonians 2:3. So it is a broader term, I think.
