Is Satan actually masquerading as god in the guise of Allah?

I would like to see some thoughtful comments on this question.

Genesis 1:1 - 31

ESV - 1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

First off, I want to clarify that "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for "God". There are many Christians that also use "Allah" in reference to God.

I would say that Satan is actually behind virtually all false religions. I think if you study the beginnings of Islam you see characteristics of demonic activity.

For example, when Muhammad originally had his encounter with whom he came to believe was the Archangel Gabriel, he thought it was a demon. In fact, Muhammad thought he was being demon possessed and intended to kill himself. However, his wife convinced him that it wasn't a demon, and after encountering the "angel" a number of times he came to believe it was indeed the angel Gabriel.

It is reported that Muhammad, who was illiterate would go into a trance like state and then write in perfect Arabic. The description of these events essentially matches with what we know to be demonic possession.

For a Christian, it is all too easy to see the footprint of the enemy in the foundation of Islam.

Remember, Satan doesn't create anything, he twists, manipulates, pollutes, corrupts. I personally believe we see a masterpiece of deception in Islam. I think Satan did it right, taking the truth of much of the OT, blending it into Islam, even acknowledging that Jesus was a prophet and incorporating Him into Islam.

Islam's foundation is a lot like Mormonism in actuality. I think there are a lot of similarities between Muhammad and Joseph Smith.

As I've said before, the quickest way to point out a cult is to look at their treatment of Jesus. Islam acknowledges Jesus, but it strips Him of His Divinity, which is essential. The moment a religious group strips Jesus of His Divinity and saving power, you know you have a cult on your hands.

The above answers are helpful. And I would like to make clear what has not yet been clearly stated.

Despite what many Christians have been taught or mistakenly believe, Allah is NOT the Jewish Old Covenants' God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Whom Jesus Followers worship. This untruth is stated regularly by Muslim apologists and ill-informed Christians.

Likewise, the mythical Isa, who is descibed as only a prophet in the Muslim Qu'ran, is not our Jesus of the New Covenant despite what Muslim apologists argue which confuses some Christians.

Blessings all!

As a youth brought up on the unbiblical doctrine of the Sanctuary/Investigative judgment myth, I am not willing to be silent about deception. What did that deception do to me? For decades, in fact? It robbed me of the peace of mind of knowing my salvation was secured by the Inviolate promise of God--to all who wholeheartedly love Him and accept him for the Atonement on the cross of Calvary.

I cannot remain silent.

I feel that Islam is a complete deception. Religious historians date Islam to 622 CE. CE--Common Era--is now widely used in place of AD, which stands for anno domini, which means in the year of the Lord, in order. To camouflage the Christian basis for the Gregorian calendar. The reason for this is to make historical dating more acceptable to non-Christians.

This alone disrespects our Heavenly Father.

A religion that tells of the simple and straight truth of the most famous verse in the Bible, John 3:16 would not have been revealed seven centuries after Christ died on the cross. Of course, Islam claims it was founded at Creation. Back dating history... Such a maneuver deceives millions.

In short, I posit that Islam is a very successful temporary attempt by Satan to make himself a god; in this case, the god Allah. Temporary, because he cannot prevail. He will be defeated by Yahweh.

I am going to quote a short passage from Answering Islam - A Christian-Muslim dialog...

"Worse still, should we actually see this as further proof that the Allah of Islam is actually the Devil masquerading as god? It seems so, especially when we take into consideration that the Quran boasts that Allah is the best deceiver/schemer/trickster/conniver/cheat of them all and that he perverts/misguides/corrupts people in the same way that Satan does.
According to the Holy Bible this description of Allah as a
corrupter/perverter who is the best deceiver perfectly fits Satan, who is said to be the father of lies and the deceiver of the whole world:"

The site goes on to quote appropriate scripture.

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

"And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world--he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." Revelation 12:9

I have long held that Allah is actually Satan. I see a lack of love in the core of existence in the Muslim world. A viciousness coming out of the Middle East that seems to scream the handiwork of Satan. It makes sense, in that it is not inconceivable that Satan has pointedly occupied the Bible lands out of sheer spite, profound evil, and a raging desire for revenge against the Savior of mankind who has already won the victory. A last stand to extract his ton of flesh.

No. Satan doesn't masquerade as God. He may masquerade as an angel of light, but never God. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
