He married an Egyptian there in Paran which is bordered by the Red sea and there is an old Arabian trade route running East to West through this wilderness area. Genesis 25:16 Ishmael had twelve sons or twelve tribes and died at 137 years of age. Genesis 25:18 These twelve tribes occupied the region of Havilah to Shur as in they were a mobile and wandering people in nature. An important characteristic was that they lived in open hostility to their own relatives, a high propensity for violence against their own people! Turning to history we're looking for a people whose characteristics include wandering barren desert lands in the middle East and war like tendencies toward other tribes? And most importantly a revered fondness for the cold steel of the impalement arts, as handed down from Ishmael in his DNA. Do such a people walk the earth today, yes I would submit for your consideration the nomadic Bedouin and Arabs in general.
