What sin is, is found in 1 John 3:4.
With law being the full commandments of GOD.(the Torah).
Therefor knowing and obeying the commandments is the true not to offend the GOD most high.

We are not sinners because we sin; we sin because we are sinners. Understanding our fallen nature inherited from Adam is the key to understanding where sin comes from and why we sin. Jesus was Adam #2, and since we are born in him and have our sin washed away by his blood, the Holy Spirit indwelling fills us with the fear of God and teaches us to shun evil.
