What does it mean that God created the heavens?

NLT - 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

...There was only a beginning for each individual creation--for God always was, and always will be. He is infinite. Therefore, it stands to reason, that our insignificant part of the universe, a rather humdrum solar system, existed well before Creation Week. After all, "...the Earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters." How about the controversy between the two beliefs... Young Earth? Or a planet that has existed for 4.5 billion years? Read the geological record to determine the age of Earth's "shell." Scientists will tell us this planet is some 4.5 million years old. Young Earth theory? It is quite correct--in the sense of when did God create Adam and Eve, and all that it takes to run a planet on behalf of mankind. A literal seven day creation. Now let's take a look at facts that concern "The Heavens." Essentially, we are not just talking about our solar system--we can see way beyond that with just the naked eye. We are speaking of the Milky Way--the galaxy we reside in. The light that we see coming from MOST of the stars visible in the sky left those suns before Adam and Eve were created. And God created all of them. The trillions of stars, with their exoplanets. We are told that in 1999 the Hubble Space Telescope computed that there are some 125 billion galaxies in the universe, Each galaxy would contain solar systems; a number that would be quite difficult to compute. Each with the potential to have Goldilocks planets--planets capable of sustaining carbon-based life. You can bet on the fact that God would not have been alone in a vacuum. He has created life and planets and stars since time immemorial. There would be unfallen worlds with their own versions of Adam and Eve. God created all of them, too. In fact, all of creation is watching carefully as the drama of Earth's rebellion plays out. Think on these facts, and it becomes way more than mind boggling. It lifts up the spirit, and causes us to say... MY LORD! YOU ARE FANTASTIC! I LOVE YOU JESUS! YOUR LOVE AND MAJESTY ARE TRULY INFINITE!
