I appreciate the comments and in christian love don't really disagree but just want to say that in the example of the phillipian jailer, paul and silas were in prison, there was a great earthquake, and after that the jailer asked the question about salvation. This happened after midnight i believe and after he was told to believe, in that same hour he and his household were baptized. I just think that if baptism were not necessary, Jesus would not have been baptized in the river jordan by John the Baptist as well as all the other examples of baptism listed in the New Testament.
