If God's Kingdom and Heaven are the same thing that we should seek it and will be rewarded eternal life there, why is God's Kingdom described as a city coming down from Heaven in Revelation 21?

If the Kingdom that we seek will be given to us from heaven, does that mean we will still be living on this earth, in that city, New Jerusalem?
