In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus says, "Depart from me ye that work iniquity, I NEVER KNEW YOU." Not, "I did know you and now I don't," but, "I never knew you."

Why did Jesus say that to people who thought they were saved? They did many good works, but never did the will of His Father. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that all that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

We have to go back to how we are saved to know that we have eternal life.

First Corinthians 15:1-4 That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, that He was buried and rose again on the third day, according to the scriptures.

John 3:18 Believers can never be condemned again, but unbelievers are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God.

Once we believe that Jesus paid for every possible sin we could ever commit, we are sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13 and 4:30.

It is our seal that God knows us. That He knows us is what is important, not just that we know Him.

Second Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, He abideth faithful, He can not deny himself. His Holy Spirit that lives in all believers. He keeps us saved. We do not keep our selves saved.

Second Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the foundation of God is sure, having this seal, Ephesians 1:13, the Lord knoweth them that are HIs. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Once we believe and are sealed by the Holy Spirit we are His and can never be cast out. He can not cast out His own Spirit. He can not deny himself.

But, it has to be by faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing. No works. Free gift. All our sin debt has been paid in full and we can never be condemned again. All our sin, even the ones we have not even thought of doing yet are all paid for. Gods grace has no end. It is deeper than the deepest ocean.

First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved, through Faith, and that not of yourselves, (We did nothing for it) it is the GIFT OF GOD, NOT OF WORKS, (what we do or do not do,) lest any man should boast.

Those in Matthew 7:21-23 were boasting in what they did to earn their way to heaven by good works and keeping the law, instead of Jesus finished work on the cross where He paid the penalty for all sin forever to whosoever would believe He did it for them. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, That WHOSOEVER, BELIEVETH in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

The fundamental difference between knowing about God and knowing God is about personal relationships. Because God is a person, you can know ‘about’ him but you don’t really ‘know’ him until you have a personal relationship with him. Seek your God personally in secret(Matt.6:6).

God wants His people to have more than an intellectual understanding of the principle of His kingdom, more than a mere awareness of His existence. He likes to enter into a very personal and intimate relationship With man. This is not a "head knowledge" (Jeremiah 9:23-24), but a "heart knowledge (Jeremiah 31:33-34).

How to know Him personally? He came down to earth and became a man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus didn’t come just to heal and teach them how to be better people. He came primarily to reveal who (not ‘what’) God is and how we can have a relationship with him.

Our God is one eternal God, but he exists in the relationship of three persons - Father, Son and Spirit. These three persons existed in one God for all eternity. We tend to think of relationships as being between human beings.

Our God love so much that He sent His only begotten Son to this world in order to restore the lost relationship with man(Jn.3:16)

Jesus is enough for us. There is no turning back. Hold Him tightly.
