If David was repentant for Uriah's death and for stealing his wife why did he continue to be with Bathsheba?

To be brief and straight to the point, David was repentant about it, but he was also unwilling to divorce his wife, unless God told him to do so. God didn't say anything about divorcing her so if David didn't love her then he would've done so. That's what I believe.
