John 4:24
ESV - 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Jesus is talking about worshipping the FATHER in the spirit. GOD is a Spirit and we can only worship him in spirit and not in our fleshly minds. That is why we have to have to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
