By the first miracle ever recorded in the Bible, God wants the whole world to understand the truth that Jesus is the only mediator between man and God. Jesus saith unto his mother, What have I to do with you in this matter? Jesus' time for working a miracle is not fully come. Perhaps Jesus meant to wait until the exhausted supply was so fully realized by everyone that there could be no doubt about a miracle being performed. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. These are Mary's last recorded words in the Bible. Mary made it clear to the servants that she is NOT divine or a mediator between man and God. She wanted the servants to go to Jesus and carry out whatsoever he says. Roman Catholic Church today thinks she is still a mediator between God and man. It is a doctrinal deception. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Tim 2:5. I have done a research on Catholic Bible if Mary is a mediator. Even catholic Bible says Jesus is the only mediator. Christ was the only sinless human being that ever lived. Mary was a sinner, for she rejoiced in God, her Savior (Lk. 1:47). There is no hint in Scripture that she had an immaculate conception. If she did have, then her parents had to be sinless, and their parents, etc. Back to Adam. On the contrary, all men are born in sin aside from Christ, for He is the only one without a human father (Ps. 51:5; Rom. 5:12- 21).

Jesus performed the first miracle at Cana (John 2:11) There are some truths which are veiled in wine that are in the rock jars or water ports. The transformed wine shows the joy in your life. You are going to be filled with joy. Be in faith that Jesus is standing next to you. We can receive joy from the Holy Spirit. We know that many came to the wedding. In the wedding reception, there was a shortage of wine. Jesus did not rebuke anybody. He did not blame anybody instead; he gave a brand new best wine. We can learn 5 principles for a quality life from this miracle. John 2:2: Both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. Jesus has a peculiar and special nature. He is the creator and He is the owner of all creations. He is the owner of everything. He is the supreme authority and he keeps all courtesies and ethics. Jesus asked what they wanted. They had to invite Jesus personally to do the miracle. Same way, involve him to do miracle in your life. The solution to the problem came through Jesus. Invite Jesus and involve Jesus personally in your life, he will do miracle in your life. The third quality in your life is` Obey Him’. He asked the servant to fill the jars with water. The servants asked anything or any questions to Jesus. The fourth quality is` Believe Him’. The servants filled the stone jars at brim. Jesus said take it some to the master of the feast. They did. When the servant took it, it was water. When they handed over to the master of the feast it turned into wine. It is a miracle happened for His glory. There were 6 stone jars. Jews wash their hands and feet traditionally/ habitually. They used to wash hands and feet whenever they come from outside. It was the tradition that they followed from the elders. There is water scarcity in deserts in Middle East countries. Availability of water in plenty is a sign of richness. What do the water jars means? Jesus wanted the servants to fill the water jars and not wine jars. Normally water jars for washing and used to keep these jars outside. These water jars may unclean and unnoticed by guests and may be kept in a secluded/isolated place. Man’s body is made of clay. Before filling these jars, they were empty. Jesus can start you from your emptiness. Jesus came to fill in your emptiness. Water and wine represent so many things according to scriptural language. Water represents Old Testament Law and Wine represents New testament Grace. We are not under Law but we are under Grace. Jesus is the end of the law. We are privileged to live under the era of dispensation of Grace. Water represents man’s work. Water is used for ceremonial washing. It is for external application. Man’s work is of external applications, peripheral things, and superficial things. It cannot change a man. When Jesus came, he came for a change internally. He gives you a wine like experience. He changes our inside out. He totally transforms you for a new creation. The last point to learn from this miracle is to Glorify Jesus. We are under the Grace Age and a change is required internally. Jesus came for a thorough change internally. Jesus did not ask the servants to fill water in wine jars instead, in water jars. Water jars/earthen jars/rock jars represents Jesus. Red Wine comes out of earthen jars. This represents Shedding of blood from the body by Jesus. If you are spiritually blind, you won’t be able to understand anything. Water represents symbolically the Word of God. Wine represents the Holy Spirit. Here is water in wine which means Holy Spirit is in the Word of God. At the wedding at Cana, the wine was served after the food. It is a Jewish practice. Wine was served after the full meal. In They had the full meal at the wedding at Cana but there was shortage of wine. This means that everything is full but no joy. Joy comes from the Lord. In Psalm 16:11 last word. In your presence is fullness of joy. At your right hand are pleasures forevermore. -T

Jesus choose to use the marriage at Cana in Galilee for his first miracle divinely. In Genesis 2:24, the first institution God set up after creation was marriage. Jesus being an express image of his father, divinely also upheld his father's precedence by validating marriage with the first miracle of the new testament. This he did after he had also created/called his Apostles. Like Father, Like Son!

It is clear from John 2:1-11 that Jesus did not choose for this miracle to be His first. I do believe that he was put-upon by his mother and could not refuse her. None of the other gospels record this event, which I find mystifying. I would have thought that His first miracle was a significant event. Still, from His answer to His mother, He wasn't ready for this to be His first divine revelation. I don't think this was His first miracle, just the first recorded. Why would Mary ask Him to rectify the situation if she didn't know He could perform such a miracle? She knew He was the Son of God but did that fact entitle her to ask Him to fix the "no wine left" situation? Her request seems to be somewhat selfish to me. Mary's last words in scripture are baffling. I know they are there for a reason; I just don't know why. This event is not the last recorded for Mary being in the presence of Jesus. She was there at His last breath. John 19:26-27 Jesus' miracles are just a small part of His divine presence in our lives and are just events along His way. His sacrifice on the cross far surpasses all the other things He did. His miracles mean nothing without His dying for the salvation of the world.

The location of a wedding is spiritually symbolic as the first instance of his ministry as it begins an intimate relationship with his Church (a group of individuals bound in his name) which he is about to found. Christ is the Groom and his holy church is the Bride. He illustrates his divinity with a miracle of generosity and multiplication, which illustrate the spiritual boundlessness he is about to bring to his followers. As well, a wedding in that time period, just as it is now, was the most joyous gathering between humans... it was only fitting that Christ would echo his union with mankind in that union. In addition, the wedding feast acts as the Alpha event to the Omega event, which is his eventual return to this earth, which is described as an eternal wedding celebration.

From the scriptures, it appears that Jesus chose the wedding for his first miracle in fulfilling the implied request of his mother, rather than deciding to do it independently. His words "woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come" seem to imply that Mary's request wasn't fully within her normal authority and position as a mother. She didn't have the spiritual status to request or demand a miracle from her son. The second part of the statement may refer to the marriage of the Lamb and his bride (Rev 19:7-9), which will only occur after the resurrection, and near the time of the second coming. Thus, Christ's time had not yet come to be celebrating a marriage, or his marriage, either literally or symbolically.
