Sin is sin. The soul that sins shall die...Ezequiel 18:20 Why would Jesus take all our sins upon his shoulder and be the perfect sacrifice for our sins and we continue to sin. (Something's wrong with that picture. ) We have been given all the tools necessary to be an overcomer, an overcomer of what? Overcome sin. The enemy of our soul wants to tarnish our walk with God by causing us to sin. We read many passages in scriptures where Jesus after healing them said to them go and sin no more.
Jesus Christhe born through the Holy Spirit, He was born in the Holy City of God ( Jerusalem ). While being baptised the Holy Spirit came upon Him in the form a dove. When He ascended to heaven He promised the Holy Spirit.
If you can check in everything is Holy Spirit, Jerusalem where He was born was called a holy city, not just a city. The bible says be holy I am holy. Holiness is a talk I the bible from Genesis to revelation. Nothing detestable is needed in God sight.
Read Revelation 21:8 and hear what it say, all sinners not some sinners will inherit and other will not inherit, no. Sin is sin. Jesus in heaven is preparing a Holy City not just a city. So those that must be found in it must be found holy as well, as He is holy sitting in the centre of the city ( New Jerusalem.
No sin that enters there, unforgiven sins can never go unpunished. Read 1 Corinthians 6:18-19. Take care of the house where the Holy Spirit resides. Sin must be forgiven first to be part of heaven, that is why Paul urges many to fight to live in holiness and in peace with everyone.
" Be Holy for I am Holy " says The Lord.
I think we also need to remember 1Jn 1:9 as well, so there is still a need to repent for those sins we know we have committed. I believe that this scripture would not be in there is it were not significant. Not saying that we will and have received forgiveness for our sins just saying that if we sin we need to remember to ask for forgiveness and then go on not dwell on our mistakes.
