"The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea" (Isa 11:9b) At the Mount of Olives the disciples of Jesus asked Him, "What will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" (Mt 24:3). He listed a number of endtime signs and then concluded, "The Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then, finally, the end will come" (v14). The Devil is more furious than ever because he knows that he has but a little time (Rev 12:12). He stirs up the powers of hell to work against soulwinners and evangelists. He instigates rulers to persecute missionaries. Persecution has always been there, but it will be intensified towards the end (Mt 24:9,10). The promises of Christ to the Church in Smyrna and the one in Philadelphia are for all missionary-minded Christians to claim: "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer... I have opened a door for you that no one can shut... Look, I am coming quickly!" (Rev 2:10a; 3:8a, 11a). A missionary evangelistic revival is widespread all over the world. Church growth has never been so rapid in all these twenty centuries. Over 75000 souls are added to the Church worldwide everyday. The Lord of the Harvest is recruiting workers even at five in the evening because the harvest is still plenty (Mt 20:6,7). If Pentecost is compared to former rain, we will have the latter rain now, just before the Return of Christ so that every field becomes a lush pasture (Zech 10:1). The Holy Spirit will manifest His power in an unusual manner at this last hour. The primary motivating factor in the life of Paul for evangelism was the Return of Christ. He loved souls because he loved the appearing of the Saviour. He desired his spiritual son Timothy to imbibe the same spirit. When he reminded Timothy of the Great Commission, he oftentimes referred to the Second Coming (1 Tim 6:12-15; 2 Tim 4:1,2). Eventhough the Great Tribulation has not yet come, the troubles faced by nations of the world are already great! The future is bleak. Leaders are baffled. The Church of Christ alone has a valid reason to lift up its head in optimism. Nations are boasting emptily of their past glory, but the Church can boast expectantly of its future glory! The main reason is that the earth is going to be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea! All over the world God's Spirit is moving; All over the world as the Prophets said it would be; All over the world there's a mighty revelation, Of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!

The bible says in the last days there will be a general falling away from the true faith, believing the doctrines of demons made up by men. The emergent church, the prosperity gospel, and a host of other doctrines of men. Some have mixed psychology with christianity. Churches add their own doctrines of men, and churches become prideful and selfrighteous believing that they are saved by their own righeousness instead of by faith in the only one who can save them. Salvation by grace through faith is taught in some churches, but then turn right around and put people under the law. Obedience to laws and rulles only makes people prideful and selfrighteous. For others it puts them in bondage to rules. Jesus said the truth shall set you free. Not to sin, but not to live in bondage to rules and regulations taught by men who never understood the gospel of grace. We have more Pharisee churches than churches with believers, trusting in there own righteousness to get to heaven. Jesus gave us His perfect righteousness if you will put your faith in Him to save you. You have to have His inorder to get to heaven. Your own filthy rags righteousness will send you to hell. Some believe they are no longer sinners and can live a perfect life in the flesh. Gnostisism is the rule of the day in many churches. Then we have the touch not, taste not, handle not, rudiments of the world that only satisfy the flesh. Many believe that they are saved by not drinking, smoking, going to movies, watching television, and wearing the right kind of clothing. These are just doctrines of men, not from the bible. They only lead to pride and selfrighteousness. Pride is one of the sins that will keep you out of heaven. Some are true believers caught up in these legalistic doctrines of men because they are the tradition of the church handed down by men. They strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. If there was a law that could save us the bible would have given it to us. But we are saved by the law of faith in Jesus finished work on the cross plus nothing else. Then we have churches that have lost their moral compass and are marrying homosexuals, and saying that abortion is ok. There are absolutes in the bible that we just cannot ignore. Drunkeness, love of money, adultry, fornication, pride, using grace as a licsense to sin, and a host of other sins named. Jesus said if you love me you will obey me. But the truth is that no one can live up to Christs righteousness, and that is why we need a savior. All have sinned and continue to sin and fall short of the glory of God. The bible says if you say you have no sin, you are a liar and do not the truth. We are only saved by the shed blood of Jesus where He paid the price for our sin. Past, present, and future. No one can live a sinnless life and get to heaven on there own righteousness. Jesus said if we obey the doctrines of men our hearts are far from Him. We tell our selves how good we are because we don't do them and then hold everyone else in contempt that don't follow our man made rules and regulations. It is the Pride and selfrighteousness of the Pharisees that put Jesus on the cross because He did not go by there legalistic doctrines of men. We are under grace, not under the law, lest any man should boast in his own righteousness. I see a lot of boasting and prideful so called Christians that think they are living the Christian life because they abstain from doing things they are taught that are sinful while gluttony gossip and a host of other sins are rampant in most churches. Some preachers love too preach on these doctrines of men that they do not do to lift themsleves up instead of Jesus. So yes, we are in the last days and should all read what the spirit is saying to the churches in Revelation.

Are we living in the end times? Yes. In the Bible John 16 Jesus talks about terrorism. He says, "I am telling you this so you will not fall away from my teachings. There are people of a false religion who will remove you from your synagogues and churches. They will kill you thinking that they are doing a service for God. But they do not know God the Father or me (Jesus the Christ, the Messiah savior). I am telling you this as a warning that their time of terrorism will come. Terrorism is happening in many countries in the middle east and Africa. As I write this Kenya has just started attacking a neighboring country in retaliation for a terrorist attack on a bus load of people at a museum.

The last days referred to in 1 John 2:18, Hebrews 1:2, and 1 Peter 1:20 pertain to the end of the of the Jewish state in the Middle East, and the destruction of the Temple, in the first century A.D by the Romans. These three verses were specifically addressed to Jews. The Jews were for the most part then scattered abroad and lost their Aaronic priesthood in addition to their prophetic line, but it was not the end of their religion. For Christians, we are living in the last days, but not the end times. The end times will come when the true Anti-Christ is finally revealed. He derives from the two-horned beast of Rev 13:11, not the 10-horned beast of Rev 13.1. Since all the predicted signs will have been fulfilled at that point, the only future event to expect then is the second coming of Christ. Christ's second coming is the end of the age. As with the Jews in the first century, Christ's second coming will result in important changes to Christianity, but by no means the end of the religion.

We are living in the last days according to Matthew Chapter 24. If you see the Fig tree with buds and green leaves starting to come out, you say Spring is almost here. So is the things that Jesus talks about in that Chapter. You can see the way the World is downgrading Christians and Earthquakes and Wars and Little Wars all over the World happening. The way leaders of the most powerful countries are trying to change normal ways of life and powerful religious leaders acting if they were Gods. Yes, the End times have started and we have to stay very close to our God, the Creator and the One whom died for us and in which is the Truth, the Way and the Life, in order to have His gift of Eternal Life.

Biblically, the last days/end times began after the ascension of Jesus and will continue until He returns. 1 John 2:18 John said it was the last hour in the first century. Hebrews 1:2 says God has spoken to us in these last days through Christ, rather than visions and prophets like in the Old Testament times. 1 Peter 1:20 says Jesus has appeared to us in these last days for our sake. The last days Biblically means there is only one major event left, Christ's return.

There have been a lot of doom & gloom sayers for a long time. They have a track record of being 100% wrong. Rev. 22 says the New Jerusalem has the Tree of Life (a term mentioned 10 times in Scripture - 3 in Genesis, 3 in Revelation, and 4 in Proverbs). The Tree of Life has leaves that are 'for the healing of the nations'. So (1) Rev. 22 is not about the end times, (2) it is not heaven because there are no sick nations in Heaven nor are there seasons in Heaven. Some people seem to think the USA is the last stop of Christian Train. Folks, there is more to Planet Earth than the US. Scripture (Deut. 7:9, Psa. 105.8, etc) speaks of a thousand generations. Each generation can be 15 years (from a biological perspective of when a girl can be old enough to give birth) or 80 to 100 years (age that a few live to attain). Depending on when you start counting (time of the Exodus ~ 1500 BC or time Psalm 105 was written ~ 800 BC), there could be upwards of 13,000 years to go. I wonder what a difference God's people would have on our society if more time was spent addressing social issues from a Biblical perspective and less time was spent on trying to figure out when Jesus will come again!
