Jesus. One who is lost does not know Him. One who is lost does not understand his or her status (1 Corinthians 2:14). One who is lost has not confessed Jesus as Savior (Romans 10:8-13). One who is not lost is known by Him and knows Him. He or she has confessed Romans 10:8-13 after being drawn by the Holy Spirit to do so.

My relatively short answer on this is expressed very eloquently by scripture that expresses how "iron sharpens iron"...what does this saying reference in God's Word? "God's Word is likened unto any two-edged sword and it cuts to the deep of the matter, exposing the heart within! (In other words, the real truth that is inside is whether the Holy Spirit has been or is living on the inside of that person.") "The Spirit knows the Spirit".

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you" for thine is the Glory and righteousness forever and ever!"

Jesus tells us that "my sheep know my voice and when I call unto them they come, for whom the Father hath given Me, they will no less be taken from me. For I and the Father are one and He will deliver His promises." Amen, and AMEN! ~~Andy~~

Brandon Hughes Regular Worker Guy

I assume we are speaking in spiritual matters and not of someone lost on their way to the local hardware store. The difference is faith; faith and trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins paid for on the cross. 

Please forgive me if I'm wrong but where does the bible use the use the term "lost"? I dont believe it does. "Lost" implies a somewhat innocent position. "I was intending to go to the right place but got mixed up on the way there." On the contrary, Paul speaks of the "lost" (unbelievers) as being at war with God.
