God gives every one a measure of faith, what you do with it is your choice. 

If you are a believer, He's the Lord of hosts, the Lion of the tribe of Judah and will never leave or foresake you. I am with you always, means in all things good and not so good He's there, so should we not have the heart of a lion! 2 Chronicles 17:6; Psalms 149:8

We stand dead to ourselves alive in Him as directed opposing the enemies of His kingdom, if directed going forward and storming the very gates of hell. 

We must never allow evil to freely pass us, we are always to engage the enemy to protect the weak and innocent behind us (sheepdogs are always in front). 

LORD here am I use me, people we stand in the gap for precious souls that are hanging in the balance, just maybe we're the answer to someones prayers or their miracle if you are "REAL" cry for help?. Psalms 149:9

No matter what the personal cost maybe, (we stand) He is with us and we with Him either here or up there, warrior on and all praise and glory to LORD JESUS.

"But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." (Matthew 5:39)

Many people interpret this that Christians must be doormats, pushovers etc. But I would like to look at it in a different perspective.

Pushover: One that is easily defeated or taken advantage of.

The Bible exhorts us to live in a way like Jesus did. 
"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
 did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
 rather, he made himself nothing
 by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
 being made in human likeness.
 And being found in appearance as a man,
 he humbled himself
 by becoming obedient to death—
 even death on a cross!"
(Philippians 2:6-8)

Jesus, despite being Lord of all Lords and King of all Kings, chose to become a man. He was born in a manger with horses and cows (imagine the smell of what they pass out). 
He grew up like anyone of us: The Omnipotent One had to learn how to eat. The Omniscient One had to learn how to read. The Omnipresent One had to learn how to walk. And the Word of God, becoming flesh, had to learn how to talk. He who rained Manna from the heavens had to be hungry. He who never sleeps or slumbers had to grow weary. And when He grew up, "He was despised and rejected by mankind" (Isaiah 53:3) Being hated by the Pharisees and Sadducees, and he ate with sinners (Mark 2:16). Above all, the Eternal, Immortal God gave himself to death, and it was death on the cross! (Deuteronomy 21:23) And the innocent lamb became the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

I'm saying all this to perhaps give you just a glimpse of Jesus' humility. Jesus' description of himself? "I am meek and lowly" (Matthew 11:29).

We must encounter Jesus' humility because when we do, we won't describe who we are as "pushovers". No sir ree. In fact, it takes more strength to hold back than to punch someone. Jesus was meek and as a result of this meekness, managed to pave a way for us to eternal life and reconciliation with the Father! And God commands us to do the same!

"Blessed is the meek, for they shall inherit the earth"
(Matthew 5:5)

Indeed, we are told to be meek people, just as how God did not send his angels to fight against those who killed him, he asks us to do the same. This is his way. God is love. And to be like God, we have to be meek. You might ask "what do I get from being a pushover?" Well firstly, as you become a servant, God will acknowledge you first (Mark 9:35). Secondly, the God of justice will vindicate and fight for you. (See Psalms 35, 37, 46, 56, 91 to see some of David's cries to God, also see Romans 12:19). Thirdly, you will be chosen to rule and reign with him when He returns! (which is what "inherit the earth" means!)

Pushover isn't the correct term. It's more of "Dependent", choosing to wait on God's hand rather than take things into your own hand. And this is an important lesson in our walks with God. Meekness is never weakness. It is strength in the Lord. So instead of defending yourself, trust in God's faithfulness and righteousness and cry out to him :) and if you have trouble, meditate on Jesus' humility. May we be more like him!

Brandon Hughes Regular Worker Guy

As Christians we are called to love our neighbors, this includes taking a stand against evils perpetrated by men. If violence is being done to our neighbors, family or coworkers, how loving is it of us if we stand by and watch it happen without saying something or putting a stop to it?
