Did David ever feel as though the Lord would not forgive him, or turn David away for a wrong doing?

Taking the worst thing David did, he committed adultery with Bathsheba and murdered her husband. Both offenses under Moses law demanded the death penalty, stoning. He was the elite of his day, the king anointed by God. He did something for God that made his relationship rock solid. God would never turn his back on David. David defended God's honor and that is worth a friendship for an eternity. The punishment was he would never lay down the sword and never build God's temple. The first Son of David and Bathsheba died. In retrospect it was a life for a life. Besides David tried to make Uriah think he was the father, so the child was not fully loved by David to begin with his heart in the matter was wrong. When David did wrong he repented with his son he even fasted. David is not much different then many of us. His sin had to be found out before it came out. Very few of us in God's kingdom enjoy what David had as far as relationship is concerned. We found out in the very end that God's Son's honor is worth the world.
