My opinion all Bible believing Christians must support the state of Israel as commanded in scripture. To choose not to for what ever reason or false doctrine is rebellion against the very apple of His eye! The church has not replaced Israel no matter what the theological wizards say, the nations will be judged for standing with or against her! One thing world history proves is that there is something special about the land and it's people, are they perfect no but who is? No nation or people have suffered and endured what hey have for as long as they have and survived, much less grown as prophecy said they would. All the demonic forced nations with their people stand against little Israel, just as many prophecies said would happen. Consider the modern intelligentsia peace piety for a moment land for peace, how many rockets landing in their back yard would it take to adjust their position. If the Muslims were to lay down their weapons, there would be peace. If Israel were to lay down their weapons there would be a massacre. Israel can only lose one war.......stand with her, it's your duty.....warrior on.

Christianity came from the Jews, plus the Apostles and first Christians were Jewish. The Old testament is the Jewish Bible. I can go on and on how the Jews are God's chosen people and how much this World owe the Jewish people and how important they have been to World History, and all the inventions attributed to them, but to sum it up, We as Christians should definitely support the Nation of Israel, because by supporting them, we are supporting ourselves (Christianity). God almighty will bless those that support His chosen people. Our Lord and Savior was Jewish.

Yes I believe as Christians we should support Israel's right to exist. But I also feel that in some fundamental Christian circles there is a hatred for Palestinians which is unbiblical. For a little background, the entire area (including Jerusalem) from The Sinai peninsula to Jordan was named Palestine by the Romans when they invaded around 70 BC. They derived this name from Philistine after the tribes that populated that area for thousands of years. Therefore, Jesus was actually a Palestinian who lived in the province of Judaea according to the authorities of the time. That's why you will not find them called Israelites often in the New Testament gospels. They will often be called Judaeans, Galileans, or Jews (Yehudim) which was the nickname given them by the Babylonians as a corruption of the name Judah. Even before the Roman invasion, Israel had long since ceased to be a nation over 500 years before when the Babylonians destroyed Israel and Judah around 586 BC. There were remnants of devout Jews who remained in the area for hundreds of years protecting religious sites etc. In the hope that they would once again become a nation as had been prophesied, which happened 2500 years later in 1948. All that time the Palestinians (remnants of the original inhabitants before the Israelites came, then those who came with the Babylonians, Assyrians, Romans, Ottomans) were there and converted to Islam during the Ottoman Empire by approx 1000 AD. Whilst I support Israel, I also support the Palestinians. I used to have an extreme view until I actually went to Israel and to Palestine. Most ordinary people have nothing to do with Hamas and a lot of intimidation occurs. Ariella Oppenheim Ph.D., a researcher at Hebrew University and the Hadassah Medical School labs has done some DNA research which found that 85% of Palestinians have Jewish DNA. Not only dating back to their common claim of the ancestor Abraham, but as recently as circa 1000AD, just around the time when the Ottoman Empire was forcibly converting all Arabs to Islam. In some towns, as many as 90% of the Palestinians have identical markers to Ashkenazi Jews of the priestly lineage and are more Jewish genetically speaking, than some Jewish people living in Israel today. Some families even have ancient Jewish relics and family traditions such as observing the Sabbath in the same way as Jews, although they identify as Muslims. I have worshipped with hundreds of Palestinian Christians in Bethlehem as well as at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem among the Jewish people. Most people who speak against Palestine don't even know that around 160,000 practicing Christians are Palestinians living in the territories and Israel and a further 1 million Palestinian Christians who have since fled overseas over the last 60 years. Jesus died for the salvation of humanity and those Palestinian lives (those that believe and those that don't) are as valuable to The Lord as the lives of the Jewish people. If you recall in the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:29-37, a devout Jew asks Jesus how he can inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to love the LORD and to love his neighbour. Jesus then told him who his neighbour was: not the Jewish priest or the religious Levite, but that unclean unbelieving Samaritan who showed love; the exact type of people that those asking Jesus looked down on. Interesting that Samaria is now modern day West Bank. There are many scriptures in the Old Testament where God reminded the Israelites to be merciful to strangers in their land because they were strangers in Egypt. Considering that God himself is the one who put the Palestinians there according to many prophecies such as Jeremiah 1, we should accept that while Israel has a right to exist and a right to safety, Palestinian people also have rights. We want Israel safe but also peace for the Palestinians. Blessings.

I would like to just say that the word Jew does indicate those from Judea and was in history a slur word from conquering nations. In reality, the Semitic people of God are Israelites as descending from Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel by God, through his children as the 12 tribes. After Jacob struggled with the angel until he received a blessing Genesis 32:28, God changed his name, as Israel means "one that struggled with god" or "one who has prevailed with God". God chose Jacob or Israel when he was born over Esau in His wisdom and even though Jacob was rebellious and proud, God still blessed him and through him brought forth the 12 tribes of Israel. We see anti-Semitism all across our world as Satan still hates the Israelites for being God's chosen people, who He blessed and used to bring forth His Word, the Torah, and His Word "the Logos" incarnate Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of the world. So, should Christians support the nation of Israel? Yes, definitely, God will again bring forth His chosen in a miraculous way during the Tribulation with the 144,000 witnesses Revelation 7:4. Let us as Christians honor all of God's people and support what God says to support. God has not forsaken His people or Israel Romans 11:1-15.

Despite the failings of Israel, the LORD's covenant with His elect (that involves a tableau of stirring convictions) may suffice for some to have an innate penchant for Eretz Israel - But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Rom 2:29) Celebrated as the Jews are in the Promised Land, peace will however continue to elude Israel and the Jew in this Palestinian hotbed. Moshe Dayan affirmed this fact in April 1956 through an eulogy that said, “We are a generation that settles the land, and without the steel helmet and the cannon's fire we will not be able to plant a tree and build a home.” Peace for Israel- elusive as it seems - will dawn when she repents corporately for rejecting her Messiah Yeshua and ‘Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai’ (Ps 118:26 cf. Matt 23:39) becomes the clarion call of the Jews for the Prince of Peace (Is 9:6) to return to the Mount of Olives from where He ascended. Only then will Israel be at peace as a nation of Messianic believers. And so all Israel will be saved (Rom 11:26). So then, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.” For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.” Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:6-9)

No, it is no part of the Christian's mandate to support the nation state of Israel, no more than it is our role to support any nationalistic cause. It is true that God has blessed the world through Israel, for "salvation is from the Jews" John 4:22, And the whole world is filled with the fruit of that blessing Isaiah 27:6 But God's chosen people are no longer restricted to Israel. All Christians are God's chosen people. It is no longer just the Jews. Rom 9:8 And we must not confuse the secular, unbelieving nation state of Israel with the chosen people of God. They are not the same. Rom 9:6 It is true that some Jews are being saved by becoming members of the body of Christ through faith in their Messiah. And as Christians we welcome that. But there is no special place for the Jews as the people of God. Eph 2:14-20 The people of God are the church and that includes believing Jews. The Jews only become the people of God when they join the church and accept Jesus. So there is no special place for the nation state of Israel. The only kingdom that Christians support is the kingdom of God. To support any nation state is to confuse an earthly kingdom with the kingdom of Heaven. We belong to a different kingdom that is not of this world. The kingdom of God is not an earthly kingdom. Lets leave aside all nation states, all earthly kingdoms and leave the things that are Cesar's, to Cesar. We have nothing to do with them. Regards Phil

A believer in Christ thinks carefully before using the Bible to justify military and political goals. God has always managed Israel according to His will, and shall continue to orchestrate the Tribulation events and rule the Messianic Kingdom with or without any nation's assistance. As the end times manifest, He expects the Church to respond in repentance not arrogance. The United States has not been ordained with a mission to “help” God protect Israel. Rather, the pertinent message for America in these end times should be Christ's exhortation in this Church Age: Rev 3:16-21.
