This answer should be put in the same category as "Who is God". The Holy Spirit is just as God as the Father and Jesus Christ. All three together are one that is Almighty God. The Holy Spirit is the one that convicts us of sin and teaches us all Truth of God. The Holy Spirit is not male or female for it has been there from the beginning before the creation of the Universe and has always existed. God is the Alpha and Omega and all of eternity. We can not deal with God as we do with Humans, because God is so much more and we will find this out in Heaven.
