SPIRITUALITY (Living the spiritual life-style) In the Bible passage, 1 Corinthians 2:10 – 3:3 (KJV), the Apostle Paul talks about three types of people, the natural man, the carnal man and the spiritual man. Concerning the spiritual man, he says, “We have the mind of Christ.” How does one get the mind of Christ? The short answer: acquire a red-letter edition of the New Testament; read the red letters (i.e. the words spoken by Jesus); learn the red letters; and LIVE / DO the red letters. One’s words reveal one’s mind. How much more spiritual could one be than to: turn the other cheek, go the second mile, give food to the hungry, give clothes to the naked, visit the sick and the imprisoned, invite the stranger into you home, love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength and you neighbor as yourself, go into all of the world and preach the gospel, make disciples, baptize them, teach them how to live, be light, be salt, etc? Also, Romans 8 is a great chapter about the Holy Spirit to consider when discussing the spiritual life-style. Living the spiritual life-style is a MIND SET. Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their MINDS SET on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their MINDS SET on what the Spirit desires. NIV Desire to be spiritual. Set your mind on being spiritual. Live for Jesus, WWJD?
