The love of christ is simply what he did for mankind! He willingly laid down his own life to pay for our sins! He secrificed with his own life to qualify man for eternal life!

Just one thought. As you read the gospel accounts, one thing stands out: What Jesus did he did because He loved His Father. It was the Father who loved the world so much that He gave his only Son. Jesus "did the works I see the Father do" - "spoke the words given him by the Father". Every act of Jesus, every miracle came from Jesus love for the Father: I believe his love for us came because His Father loved us.
How much he loved us!
