Hypothetically, if there had been no sin (disobedience) in this world there would have been no need for the presence of Jesus (the First Coming). If there would have been no First Coming then there would not be a Second Coming, and no need for the righteous to go to heaven. That is, this world would continue ad infinitum with continuous marriages (the unions of one man and one woman). Why would God change the status quo and stop such a sacred institution in heaven?
One thing that has puzzled me for a while is in the same passages you noted Jesus talks about our 'intimacies' being with God.
That is the word the King James Version uses. However, I think the original word for intimacy is worth a little more investigation.
There is no sex in heaven. I think here is no sex appeal and no sexual difference. All angels we know of are masculine..I wonder, how we would look like in heaven. We are recognizable, that is for sure. But at what episode of life? Would we look like nery aged people? And how would the still born baby look in heaven. As a beautiful youth?
No more sex in heaven because no longer sin heaven have perfect 100%
The Word of God says, the angels,(those that fell with Satan) came into the daughters of man. Were they not spirits, though being evil? This is hard thing to understand. It is also said, that man cannot fatham what God has prepared for those that love Him.
It is apparent that many of us don't read the bible, so we don't know what it says about a lot of things, so we depend on our own logic to try and figure out what to believe.
Jesus said that there is no marriage in heaven. He didn't say we wouldn't GET MARRIED in heaven. He said the people who are married in this life won't be married in heaven. Our marriages end when one person of the couple dies.
Why God "would change the status quo of such a sacred institution" is a good question, but that's exactly what happens.
There's nothing to wonder about. If there's no marriage, I would guess that there will be no sexual activity.
I don't think it'll be missed. I base that on scripture. I base everything about it on scripture.
"For behold, I create new heavens (plural) and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. Isaiah 65:17 (The context is when all things have been made new).
Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Isaiah 43:18 (The context is after the Savior delivers you).
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away... 2 Cor 5:17
It's either the old things or the new, but you can't have both...
