A personal testimony: As I grew up and became aware of other religions, I wondered if I was in the right religion. It turns out that the church I grew up in had a form of godliness but it was an empty form that didn't affect my life. Sunday mornings were disconnected from the rest of my week. The Sunday liturgy was a hollow, meaningless, though familiar exercise that did not impact my life. I went into the military and had the unsettling experience of being stationed on the other side of the planet. That is where I met a real Christian for the first time in my life. He was my roommate in the barracks. For months he shared with me how Jesus, who was the Savior of the world, wanted to be my Savior. He shared how salvation was a personal experience between me and Jesus. Finally, on July 11, 1968 I invited Jesus to be my personal Savior from sin. I went back to that denominational church I grew up in twice more. The first time I was excited about the liturgy. It came alive for me and the words had deep meaning. I could see that godly men put these words together to help others with their faith. The second time I went and repeated the same familiar words once again, I looked around at the spiritually dead people reciting those familiar words without a spark of recognition of what they meant. I knew then that I was in the wrong place. I found a church where there was no liturgy but there was reality; where Jesus was preached and the Bible, in its entirety, was the guidebook for changing my life. I have enjoyed fellowship in churches like this for decades now and have grown in faith and knowledge of the Word of God. I found the one and only "religion" that God Himself created and it wasn't a religion at all. It was a relationship with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It was fellowshipping with His people of like precious faith. What church was it? There can be one of many different names over the door of the church with the true "religion" but inside there will always be two elements. The Bible is the only source of faith and practice and Jesus is the only way of salvation. May the Lord bless you as you find Him and the church He has for you.

Don't be religious. Religion is something you do, it's not who you are. Jesus had a problem with the religious people of his time and those today because they were so caught up in the traditions of religion that they forgot about God. Christianity was never meant to be a religion, but yet has been turned into one. Being a true Christian means that you are a citizen of the Kingdom of Christ and agree to adhere to and be governed by his rules and statutes. There are only two kingdoms, God's and satan's. So if you're not a servant in God's Kingdom, then either by choice or default you are a servant of satan. Be a true Christian and build a relationship with God based on obedience to his word as presented in Holy Bible.

This question is generic in nature and therefore I will try to answer it also from the same generic perspective. Every human possesses a spiritual self (soul) in addition to physical and emotional selves. That is what fundamentally distinguishes humans from animals. It is the spiritual self that makes us do good things in life for others. Whilst our physical and emotional selves come to an end in this world when we die, it is the state of our spiritual self that helps us achieve our state (heaven or hell) in the next world. However unlike our physical & emotional selves which we can experience and satisfy in many ways e.g. by eating different foods, consuming different drinks, enjoying different pleasureable activities, there is only ONE way (one truth) we can nurture our spiritual selves to help us reach our desired state in the next world. A religion then is simply an explanation of what that world is and what we should do with our spiritual selves to make sure we enjoy the glories in thenext world. In that sense, it answers the specific questions that we have as to why we are here, what happens to us when we die, what we need to do in this life to get there. The problem is that we cannot know whether we have followed the right religion until we die by which time it is too late to recover. That is why getting the right answer to this question is so important. So let me set out a series of logical arguments that I would use to help me if I were to compare other religions with Christianity to arrive at my choice. If Christianity is the ‘Truth’ then it should be able to stand up to thorough examination. Here are my comparison arguments. Founders of other religions; * the founders were exceptional leaders who were highly intelligent (ability to reason at a deeper level), intellectual (ability to discover the reasons why and explain them to others) and possessed huge charisma to lead thousands of people during their time. Nevertheless they were all human without exception, except in the case of Christianity, whose founder happened to be God Himself. * although they explained of how we can reach the next world in the best state, they did so without ever experiencing that world themselves. Instead they said that they had either received the explanations from someone else e.g. a god, gods, an angel or that they had arrived at them through their own reasoning. They did so before they had died and had a chance to experience the world they described to their followers. Only in Christianity the explanations to his followers were given by God himself (in person). He was the creator of that world and therefore knew exactly what it was and how exactly anyone could reach it. He said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6)”. He was not a mediator, an agent, a messenger, an observer or a third party medium. * founders died a natural death through old age, illnesses or unexpectedly. They did not know in advance when and how they were going to die. Only in Christianity the founder predicted in advance exactly when and how he was going to die! Not only him but others (prophets) too predicted centuries in advance of his coming to earth and exactly how he would die. Five thousand years before the birth of Christ, the Hindu Vedas (religious documents) recorded that God the Almighty would be sending his own son to earth to suffer and die in a similar way! * once died, never came back to earth to address their followers to either confirm or change their previous explanations. Only in Christianity the founder rose after death as predicted in advance. This was confirmed by the angel “He is not here, he has risen, just as he said (Matthew 28:6)” and his appearance to his disciples and others. He said to Thomas, “Put your fingers here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe (John 20:27).”

The true religion is following the Bible and doing as Bible states, Matthew 7:17-20 states you will know them by their fruits, I have seen a lot of religious leaders fall in my 45 years, for not following the Bible. Also every time I get something from eBible I see that it's the same questions being asked, but worded differently, 2 Timothy states, "Study to show they self unto God. If we all study the Bible like we are suppose to, there wouldn't be all this questions that are the same, just worded differently. In the Gospel Jesus says follow me. Now the question is this, are you going to follow Jesus and do what the Bible says, are are you going to follow some religion and do what that religion says? (The reason I said Gospel is because it's in more then one place). Like I said before, the true religion is following the Bible and doing as the Bible states to do. In Revelations it says that if one thing is changed in scripture you will be punished for it, ALL religions change the scriptures to fit to their belief which is wrong.

This question, in my humble opinion, is perhaps among the most important discussed on this platform. This is because everyone wants to belong to the right religion, or thinks that his religion is the right one. But, what is religion? One renowned dictionary defines religion as follows: “The outward act or form by which men indicate their recognition of the existence of a God, god or of gods having power over their destiny, to whom obedience, service, and honor are due; the feeling or expression of human love, fear, or awe of some superhuman and overruling power, whether by profession of belief, by observance of rites and ceremonies, or by the conduct of life; a system of faith and worship; a manifestation of piety; as, ethical religions; monotheistic religions; natural religion; revealed religion; the religion of the Jews; the religion of idol worshipers” Most humans accept that there must a Creator, or a supernatural first cause or force, a divine Being, God, who caused their existence. And, it seems that humans have an inbuilt desire to worship that Being. In view of this, the right religion is that which directs worship to the true God, according to the dictate or direction of that true God. And, of course, one expects that true God to communicate with and make himself known to those that he created, basically humankind. No other sacred book can challenge the claim of the Bible, a library of dozens of small books, as the book that the Creator provided to humans as a means of communication and guidance. If this claim is accepted, then anyone seeking to know the right religion must get very well acquainted with the Bible. It is only in the Bible that humans get to know the story of creation, the story about the dealings of the Creator with the first humans, his purposes, directives on pure worship and on how to live a good life that pleases him, (in other words, how to develop a good relationship with him), and also to know about the future. In actual fact, the Bible tells us about our past, our present, and what the future holds for humans whom he adjudged to be true worshippers (that is, those who practiced the true or right religion) and those he adjudged to be false worshippers (that is, those who practiced false religion). In particular, the Bible teaches that our first father Adam disobeyed God’s clear and simple instructions and thereby failed to develop a good relationship with God. He was more or less excommunicated by God. He lost his life and all of us his children are condemned to death. Romans 5:23. Because of God’s love for us, He sent his Son Jesus Christ, to the world to give up his human life as a propitiatory sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin, and redeem us. The Bible clearly links the future of mankind to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. John 3:16, 36; 17:3. The right religion was founded by Jesus Christ on Pentecost Day 33 C.E. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. The Bible assures us that those who worship God through Jesus Christ will have eternal life. In view of this, Christianity, the religion founded by and that is patterned after Jesus Christ, is the right religion. It is very apt to state that true followers of the true Jesus Christ are in the right religion. The right religion presents the true teachings of the true Jesus. It presents a body of doctrines and promotes a way of life solidly based of the Bible. This statement is born out from the warning in the Bible that there will be false Christs, Those who follow false Christs cannot be true Christians; they cannot be in the right religion. See Matthew 24:4,5; 2 COR 11:12-14; 2 Peter 3:15-17; Rev 2:2,9. In view of the above, anyone who wants to find the right religion must pray to God for guidance by his Holy Spirit; read/meditate and study the Bible, compare and contrast the teachings and practices of the place of worship he associates with along with what the Bible says, and be vigilant.
