There are literally hundreds of God's promises in the Bible. How can we know which promises apply to us, which promises we can claim? To frame this question another way, how can one tell the differ...

God is multidimensional. All the promises of God are yes and amen. Whatever you can believe God for is yours. God is saying yes and when you say amen you are saying "So be it" Let's look at this verse 1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. NIV 2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. NIV I cannot say more since the two above verses say it all. <:)

All the promises of God that are not Jewish nation specific are ours to incorporate in our prayers, proclmations, degrees, and declairations in the old and new testiments. We are all equal in the sight of our heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 Gal. 3:28 The only requirement is salvation and the beleif in the redemptive work of the blood sacrifice of our Lord and King Jesus Christ. If we have Jesus as Lord and Savior and confess the son before mankind, we have the Father also. The word of God declairs all these things. Romans 3:23 Romans 6:23 Through Jesus Christ we can claim the birth right covenant promises of father Abramham, Issac, and Jacob. Through Jesus Christ and our adoption through him we become the children of Abraham by adoption. Gal.3:29 The promises of God in the old and new testament are ours to trust and believe in. Of coarse our covenant is a new and better covenant because of amazing grace. Romans 10:9 Paul said it best when he declared. Where sin abounds grace much more abounds.No sin truely repented of and overcome is able to defeat the grace card. But of coarse as Paul also expressed grace was not a license to commit habitual sin. Romans 5:20 Romans 6:1 Sin can have it's pleasure for a season, but the end result is damnation if not contained or mastered. Psalms 80:13

The New Testament records the New Covenant that God has made with his human creation. Every person who hears the gospel message about the birth, life, ministry, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and puts their faith in him – accepts him as their personal saviour and Lord – receives the forgiveness of their sins and the gift of eternal life. Their relationship with God is restored for all eternity. Every promise made by God in the New Testament applies to every believer. The Old Testament records the Old Covenant of Law that God made with his human creation. God created the nation of Israel, to reveal and demonstrate to the whole of human creation, how to have a relationship with God. Keeping the law or being obedient to it, demonstrated faith that God would keep his covenant promises. Although God’s Old Testament promises are made specifically to the nation of Israel or to specific leaders of that nation, in reality, these promises are made to the faithful, the Israel of God – anyone who will obey the Covenant of God. Since Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Covenant our responsibility is to keep the faith under the New Covenant. We demonstrate our faithfulness under the New Covenant in the following ways: 1) when we believe in Jesus (John 6: 28-29), when we learn and obey all of Jesus’s commandments (Matthew 28:20), when we love each other (John 15: 12-17). Every believer, because they live by faith, has the right and privilege to claim every promise of God under both the Old and New Covenants. The writer of Hebrews shows us this continuity of the Old Testament promises with these words in Hebrews 4:1-2 "Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed." The Good News is "All The Promises of God"! The apostle Paul made it clear that the Old Testament promises were also made to the New testament churches in the following verses: 2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”[a] Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. In these verses Paul is affirming that the Old Testament promises to the nation of Israel were also promises of God to the church in Corinth. Because these words are recorded in the New Testament, we can be confident that all the Old Testament promises can be claimed, by every person who has been accepted into the New Covenant of God, through faith in Jesus Christ.
