Psalm 103:1-2, "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

To bless an omnipotent and omnipresent God, is to show honour, reference, and worship to him in every way humanly possible. Hebrews 4:12, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work".

God is all-powerful, and God's power is infinite, or limitless. God is Omniscience and all-knowing, in the sense that he is aware of the past, present, and future. God is omnipresent and He is every where at the same time, and have knowledge of the present and the past.

Blessing the Lord is a commitment expected of faithful believers and Christians, which helps in expressing our appreciation to God, for His kindness to humanity. Blessing is an act of adoration giving to something of great and immortal value, and it can be define, as the infusion of something with holiness, spiritual redemption, divine will etc. Therefore to be blessed means “to be favoured.

Deut. 28: 1-2, “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all His commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all those blessings if you obey the Lord your God.

When God blesses us, it is the expression or outworking of his “good, pleasing and perfect” will toward us. When we bless God it is the expression or outworking of our obedience to God’s good, pleasing and perfect will. When we bless God it gives him joy and pleasure.

So how do we bless God. Here are some suggestions.
1. Make him the #1 priority in our lives all the time
2. Develop an intimate personal relationship with him
3. Read and study the bible every day and apply its truth and guidance to our lives
4. Have daily conversations with God in prayer to adore God for who he is, thank God for what he has done, confess our sins, and ask God to meet our needs and the needs of those we care about
5. Share the good news of the gospel at every opportunity
6. Advance the cause of God’s kingdom and take our stand against evil
7. Fight against all forms of injustice
8. Obey God’s commands to live a righteous and holy life in a crooked and depraved world
9. Take care of the needy in our world: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” (Matthew 25:35-36)
10) Live by faith and walk with the Holy Spirit

All of these things (and many others) bring great joy to our Heavenly Father and are a treasured blessing to him.
