This question was asked another way on this site and someone writing under Mr Houdmann's name said it wasn't "always" wrong to worship at a high place.
The question was 'Why did Solomon worship at a high place.'
I was flabbergasted that Mr Houdmann would try to excuse a form of idolatrous worship, and being who I am, I totally disagreed.
I've since learned that not everything written under his name was written by him. I'm pleased to know that now. I WILL STILL DISAGREE and call him by name when I do. (I've never lapdogged for anybody, not even my dad the late Rev. L R Hickman. He preached that hell awaits the lost, and they will CONSCIOUSLY suffer eternally. I told him every time that he was not preaching the grace of God for sin and sinners. That God's grace is shown in the destruction of a lost soul. If a soul is punished for an eternity, then the wrath of God is more important to him than is his grace. That is not the truth. I had no qualms about telling him so.
I'm pleased to have discovered that Mr Houdmann isn't reluctant to call Solomon out for leading the people into idolatry. The same thing is done every day in this dispensation. And many people are reticent to stand and say, 'That's not right.'
God ain't keeping souls alive for eternity in another realm punishing them for a few short years of living as unrepentant sinners!! That preaching needs to be stopped. It shows the Father as angry, harsh, unbalanced and unforgiving. None of that is who he iis.
