In biblical perspective today the temple mount hold absolutely no important meaning other than historically if was the site of the temple originally built by Solomon, and the rebuilt ones described in Hehemiah and the last one built by Herrod in the New Testament. The temple in Jeruwas the center of Jewish life until AD 70 when it was destroyed by the Romans as predicted by Jesus in His Olivet Discourse. The temple lost its significance when Christ came on the scene it was a type shadow of Himself. The christian Life no longer revolves around a physical place but in Christ Himself. The temple and it's mount today as absolutlely meaningless/
