The Bible states that there will be no new revelations after Jesus, as seen in Hebrews 1:1-2, which says God spoke through prophets but now speaks through His Son, and Revelation 22:18-19, which warns against adding to or taking away from the prophecies in the book. Additionally, Jude 1:3 speaks of contending for "the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints," and 1 Corinthians 13:8-10 suggests that prophecies will pass away when "the perfect comes". Verses indicating completion: 1: Hebrews 1:1-2 indicates that while God spoke through prophets in the past, He has now spoken through His Son, signifying this as the final stage of His redemptive revelation. 2: Jude 3 encourages believers to "contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints," suggesting the core Christian faith and revelation are complete. 3: Revelation 22:18-19 warns against adding to or taking away from the words of that book, a passage some interpret as a broader caution against altering divine revelation. 4: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 states that "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness," highlighting the sufficiency of existing Scripture. 5: Ephesians 2:20 describes the congregation as "built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone," implying this foundational revelation is complete. These passages support the view that the Bible contains all the necessary truth for salvation and guidance, and that new public revelation is not expected. Revelation 22:18-19 ESV Bible: "I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book: 19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book." God inspires revelation. Who would dare change a word of what God himself has spoken and transmitted through the one who is now the reigning King, Jesus Christ?
