What is the significance of God the Father Jehovah being repeatedly (many times) referred to as 'the living God' in Scripture?

I understand that Jesus is declaring Himself to be the Bread of Life in this scripture narrative. I'm wondering about the many times God the Father is called "the living God," even here by God the Son, Jesus the Christ. Here is a token list of references:

Matt 16:16, Deut 5:26, Josh 3:10, Ps 42:2, Jer 10:10, Dan 6:20, Hos 1:10, Acts 14:15, 2 Cor 3:3, 1 Tim 4:10

This is said over and over in Scripture! 'Jehovah is the living God.' LIVING being the operative word!
