How does a Christian get God's work in our heart to make changes?
2 Corinthians 3:18
ESV - 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Hearing the gospel and the Bible being read allows the Holy Spirit to do the regenerative work necessary for the restoration of the severed relationship between man and GOD caused by sin. Everyone born into this world is born separated from GOD and away from the ability to communicate & have intimate (close personal) fellowship with Him. The Holy Spirit calls people out of the darkness of their own sin into new life as GOD allows.
