Robin S,
Here are a few Scriptural verses to present an idea.

Psalm 37:4 "Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

John 15:7: If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Philippians 4:4-7: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! / Let your gentleness be apparent to all. The Lord is near. / Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

1 John 5:14-15: And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. / And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.

James 4:3: And when you do ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may squander it on your pleasures.

Romans 8:28: And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.

Matthew 7:7-11: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. / For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. / Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?...

Hebrews 11:6: And without faith it is impossible to please God. For anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

1 Timothy 5:13-16: 9 A widow should be enrolled if she is at least sixty years old, faithful to her husband, 10 and well known for good deeds such as bringing up children, entertaining strangers, washing the feet of the saints, imparting relief to the afflicted, and devoting herself to every good work.

11 But refuse to enroll younger widows. For when their passions draw them away from Christ, they will want to marry, 12 and thus will incur judgment because they are setting aside their first faith. 13 At the same time they will also learn to be idle, going from house to house and being not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, discussing things they should not mention.

14 So I advise the younger widows to marry, have children, and manage their households, denying the adversary occasion for slander. 15 For some have already turned aside to follow Satan.

In all these we have confirmation that "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
