Word of Faith teaching is decidedly unbiblical. It is not a denomination and does not have a formal organization or hierarchy. Instead, it is a movement that is heavily influenced by a number of hi...

I read Greek. It is true, (as the margin of many Bibles correctly state) that Mark 11:22 states "Have the faith OF God" -- not "in" God. The Greek is in the genitive case showing possession. So God does have faith and uses His own faith. Some have said, WHO would He have faith in?

Hebrews states that since He could swear by no greater, He swore by Himself. Is it hard to understand God has faith in His own power? And can we not -- indeed are we not commanded to -- use that same faith to do miracles?

Jesus said if we do use the "faith of God" we can speak to a mountain and if we believe that what we say will come to pass -- it will. I have seen the faith of God work. I'm not pentecostal -- nor do I belong to a "word of faith" church -- but I have prayed for countless people whom I have seen healed -- most of them instantly. I do not support the full teachings of this movement. Some of it is catholic in its orientation. But we can use the faith of God for miracles and Jesus commands us to use it.

The Word of Faith movement is basically a cultish effort to appeal to the selfish flesh of humanity. This same tactic is used by Satan in the Bible. “For God knows that on the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened [that is, you will have greater awareness], and you will be like God, knowing [the difference between] good and evil.” Genesis 3:5

The “name it and claim it” teaching appeals to the flesh because of “the spirit of getting” which is of the natural man. 1 Corth 2:14. Satan understands this because he is the master of this very elemental of deception. The Spirit of sacrificial giving is God’s will.

The teachers of this prosperity message twist the context of scripture to fit the desires of the flesh by seducing the flesh into thinking that the child of God should never be in a situation of harm or physical hurt. Yes Faith is needed as a Christian. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Hebrews 11:6 But we are to conform to the image of Christ and that image is Him crucified. Rom 8:29, 1cor 2:2, Rom 6:6. Dying to self and our wants. Living for Him and His will.

The things of this world will never satisfy the child of God, or for that matter, all of mankind, because all humanity has been created for eternity. Ecc 3:11. Thus, eternal beings cannot be satisfied with temporal stuff!. Planet earth is not our home. Heb 11. Our prosperity is not in this world. Our prosperity is in Christ Jesus. The only thing we need is more of Jesus. Kingdom Prosperity!

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, this life is about Jesus not about us.

the word of faith movement is based on taking God at his word literally. Romans 10:8 Mark 11:24 romans 8:37 and many more. We need to remember that God is the only one who can judge.

Mar 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mar 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I’m no theologian, but I’m able to tell the difference between a sermon teaching me Christlike actions, and how to handle life situations, and a sermon twisting certain scripture meanings telling me the main message of the Bible is to have enough faith and I can be healed, be wealthy, and be a god.

If Jesus had no need of wealth and possessions while walking this earth, and if he sent the 70 out two by two with nothing but the truth of the Gospel, why are so many TV preachers teaching this health and wealth stuff? I say they fulfill the scripture from Matthew 24 - beware of false prophets, false teachings, especially in these last days.

We have faith because We trust God provides all our needs. He feeds, clothes, and houses us. We have to remember sin has caused such greed and pride, and selfish desires have cause terrible hurt to other humans throughout history all over the world since the beginning of mankind.

Our faith in Christ is what gives us that hope of eternal life with Him. Anyone who teaches that a sick or poor person doesn’t have enough faith doesn’t know the Jesus I know, nor the Word of God that I believe in.

I have to say also that the extreme wealth many preachers have (we know who they are) to me is not godly wealth. Satan has them convinced they’ve earned their wealth and they’re God-blessed. The very things they say are based on (when they’re not used out of context) the Word of God, and he gave that freely - didn’t cost them anything. If they made money off of this by writing books, recording sermons, then that excess profit should be used to help mankind, not for multimillion dollars homes, jets, cars, vacations, antiques, etc. For those preachers. God gave more so more could be used on earth to save people.

In Hebrews 11:6 it states, "Without faith it is impossible to please God". In the Bible, ONLY those people who acted by faith or who obeyed God's Word (which takes faith) are the people who were approved by God. This is the reason why so many people study Bible-based faith. I can see no error in the teachings of EW Kenyon, Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, etc. They never have made any statements that are not backed by the Word of God.
