Why is Jesus saying, "My yoke is easy, my burden is light," but also "Take up your cross daily and follow me"? Surely a cross is a very heavy yoke to bear.
Matthew 16:24 - 26
ESV - 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

That is the beauty of following Christ ascended rather than following Christ's earthly ministry to Israel. Christ 'took up the cross' on our behalf. We only need to trust in what He accomplished and completed for us at Calvary. Things changed through the shed blood of Christ for us.
