Are we to follow Jesus’ commands because Jesus was a curse for us and he followed OT laws?

My question is in regards to John 15: 1-17 as a whole summary and because Jesus was made a curse for us dying on the cross; our commands we follow are his new commands. He fulfilled all of them and died a perfect sinless death for us, and what we do now is love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls and minds, etc.

Would this be accurate to say?

John 15:10

NKJV - ¹⁰ If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
